A Fish Tail Kimono

As part of the London Sew Social sponsors package, I received a beautiful grey knit with a botanical theme from The Sweet Mercerie. The fabric screams spring to me -yes, sometimes fabric speak to me- then I decided to use it to make my first item for this week.

I choose to make a Fish Tale Kimono pattern by Chalk and Notch – Sponsor of London Sew Social as well-. because I thought would be perfect for the fabric.

It is size S (age 4/5) no alterations. I used the all in one piece neckband and rolled hem.

As an extra detail I topstitched with a pink neon thread, I think it would complement the grey very well. The pattern comes together very easy and actually is a quick project -even for me that I’m very slow when sewing!-

    1. Olu, that fabric is so nice, isn’t? I wanted to make something for me too, but I wasn’t sure if I had enough to cover my big frame 😛 then Fish Tail Kimono came to the rescue!
