Creative assignment / Tarea creativa

Today I would like to talk to you about a new creative assignment that was proposed by Meg the author of a blog called Elsie Marley. This time is called “Creative assignment within arms reach”, as the name suggests, in order to complete the mission, we had to choose one or two objects that were located in front of us at the moment of reading the assessment rules .

Well I was quite lucky, because I was sitting at my desk in my craft room and obviously there was a bit of a mess to choose from. The first thing we needed to do was a list with the objects and there it is mine:  books, pens, fabric samples, daughter’s leap pad, glue stick, seam reaper, scissors, tape, paper, calculator, Vaseline, external hard drive, computer, small sculpture, notebook, tea towels, white thread.

PenNow I’m going to spare you a picture of that huge mess and I will tell you that I choose a pen, a pen with black ink to be more exact.

Para ahorrarles el horror de ver todo mi desorden, les contare que escogí un lapicero de tinta negra.processI choose this item because of the simple silhouette. I had a vision of simply sketching it by hand but that wasn’t happening- I think I just not very good at hand drawing-, then I scraped that idea and was in a very bad mood. After  dinner and leaving the kids in Morpheus arms,  the light came to me again. Decided to do it in the computer and these are the steps I followed: apply sketch filter on the picture, arrange the picture in lots of manners until I was happy, then apply more filters, made mosaics and Tadah!!!  magic happened, I was happy with what I was seeing.

It wasn’t a quick process, but the result is more similar to the idea I had fixed in my mind. I like that it is not that obvious  and the feeling that was draw by hand.
